Since the Hot Wheels #’68 Dodge Charger General Mayhem was sculpted from the #’69 Dodge Charger R/T, you can see that not much had to be done to convert the Hellephant engine under the hood of the RLC piece to the Hellcat engine found in General Mayhem. Fortunately, this was not the version of General Mayhem that was immortalized as a Hot Wheels car as it painfully featured the Hellcat’s rear taillights. Upon installing the Hellcat’s drivetrain and other modern amenities, the car was reimagined as a drag vehicle with roll cage, racing seats and some meaty slicks in back. In that episode, the motorhome 440 engine was replaced with a 707HP Hellcat engine from a donor 2015 Charger since the event was sponsored by Dodge. In season 4, episode 43 (2015) of #Roadkill, General Mayhem was “upgraded” (depending on who you talk to) en route to a drag race with the Gas Monkey Garage team at “Roadkill Nights” in Pontiac, Michigan. ![]() Rear of vehicle compare to 2021 Fast & Furious ’68 Charger & 2020 RLC ’69 Charger. Together, they make quite the Roadkill trio, and I’m sure they’ll have collectors yearning for more cars from the series. A couple months later, Hot Wheels collectors who signed up for the app began receiving the “after” Rotsun, which was a brand-new casting with some pretty unique characteristics. The Red Line Club, often referred to as RLC, is a club for Hot Wheels collectors. The “before” was simply a rusted-out, deco’d Hot Wheels #Datsun 240Z - a casting that has been around since 2008. The infamous #Rotsun debuted in 2020 as a 2-car “before & after” series. General Mayhem is not the first Hot Wheels car from #Roadkill. One of the coolest moments of the show’s history was when Freiburger & Finnegan took General Mayhem - and a slew of other project cars - to Dirtfish Rally School in Washington, and had arguably the most satisfying racing sequence they’ve ever had on the show as gravel from the track shot out from behind General Mayhem in slo-mo!
